Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Keralam Prant, Guruvayur Branch, organized a Universal Brotherhood Day programme at Thiru Narayana Lower Primary School, Engandiyur, on 11 September 2026, from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. The programme witnessed a total participation of 82, including 70 students and 12 others comprising the Headmistress, teachers, parents and 5 Karyakartas.

The programme commenced with an introductory address by a teacher, who explained the significance of observing Universal Brotherhood Day on 11 September, commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the World’s Parliament of Religions in Chicago. Shri Jyothivas Ji introduced Shri Vishnu Ji and expressed the gratitude of VK Guruvayur Branch to the school for providing the opportunity to conduct the programme.

Interacting with the students, Shri Vishnu Ji spoke about Swami Vivekananda and the importance of his Chicago address. He encouraged the students to read books on Swami Vivekananda and imbibe his inspiring ideas. He also emphasized the importance of protecting the environment.

As part of the celebration, a competition for students had been conducted two days earlier, in which 25 students participated. All the participants were presented with certificates, while three winners received books as prizes.

The Headmistress thanked Vivekananda Kendra Guruvayur Branch for conducting the programme at the school. The programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
