Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Prant, Rural Development Programme (VKRDP), Ramanathapuram branch organised a grand Thiruvilakku Puja on 25th May 2025 at the Sri Mangaleswari Sametha Sri Mangalanathar Temple, located in Thiru Uttharakosamangai, Ramanathapuram.

The event commenced with the auspicious lighting of traditional lamps by esteemed dignitaries: Mananeeya Shri Hanumantharao Ji, All India Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra; Smt. Deepa Bhaskar Sethupathi from Rotary Club, Paramakudi; Smt. Chandrakanta Vallarasu, Paramakudi; Smt. Ponni Manikandan; and Smt. Chandra Arumugam from Vivekananda Children Home, Ramanathapuram.

In recognition of their presence, the dignitaries were honoured with mementos by Shri Hanumantharao Ji and Shri Paramaguru Anna, Prakalp Sah Sangatak of VK Rural Development Programme.

A special group discussion titled “Hindus, Awake from Sleep”, led by Kendra sisters, was also held, invoking awareness and cultural pride among the participants.

The puja witnessed an overwhelming participation of 1,253 women from over 110 villages across the Ramanathapuram district, who gathered with devotion to pray for national welfare, cultural revival, global peace, and the well-being of humanity.

All arrangements for the event were meticulously carried out by the senior sisters from the district — Kum. Nagajothi Akka, Vijayarani Akka, Bhakiyalakshmi Akka, Balasevikas, Kendra well-wishers, and dedicated volunteers — ensuring the success of this spiritually uplifting event.
